take ibuprofen again. Will Naproxen cause the same side affects? I am not suppose to take aspirin because I am taking Depakote (right?) and doesn't Tylenol cause longterm problems too? What can I take for severe neck and back pain that I have suffered with for 30 some years?

You should not take NSAIDS period. That includes aspirin and naprosyn. If you can see a pain management dr there are meds for pain that aren't in this class and don't have tylenol in them. Its tylenol in large doses long term that is the problem.
Kaismama is right as always. I can't take any anti-inflammation meds either because of my kidney failure. And I have severe pain which can be treated with other meds. In the meantime before you can get some meds, you can always take acetaminophen. But be careful of the dose because in higher doses it can cause liver damage. And Kaismama is right to direct you to a pain management clinic.
