Same here! I've had outbreaks since I was ten and started taking acyclovir for it during my twenties. Even with the pills I still manage to get outbreaks quite frequently. I started to have to look at the reasons that were causing my outbreaks. Stress, for one, whether is be physically on my body or mentally was a cause. The little spurts of anxiety that we all get is enough to cause outbreaks if I don't get a handle on it. Just recently I got an outbreak from being in the sun one afternoon; even though I was still taking acyclovir for a previous outbreak that was about to end. It sucks! I now just use acyclovir to lessen the severity of my outbreaks, but in my case I don't think it will ever completely prevent it. Some cases of herpes are simply just more advanced or drug resistant.
