have a problem with post nasal drip causing me to clear throat constantly
You are best to talk to your pharmacist. Many cold and flu preparations contain decongestants which should be avoided in patients with high blood pressure.
There is a Cold & Flu range called Coricidin HBP which is safe for high blood pressure sufferers.
You could try a saline nasal spray. The spray can help flush your sinuses and relieve congestion.
A steam inhalation with menthol, eucalyptus or camphor may also be helpful to clear the passageways in your nose.
Hello marie - beings you are already on a blood pressure medication, it is best to discuss that with your doctor. Some of those o-t-c meds do NOT mix well with bp medications so I am reluctant to advise you on that. You don't need a cold medication if you have post nasal drip... you need something for allergies which makes more sense to me from the brief description of your symptoms. But regardless because you are on amlodipine and not mentioning what other ailments you might have... I cannot recommend anything to you. Please do talk with your doctor, okay?
