... For chronic cluster headache. Want to see how they are faring post-surgery
Cluster headaches - looking for actual patients who have had deep-brain stimulation of hypothalamus?
Added 6 Sep 2009:
Respond if you, a relative or friend has had this surgery, for this condition. Only about 65 people qorldwide have had this surgery. Bulk of patients are Italian.
When it comes to the brain I am scared. I am sure that you are looking into all avenues before jumping into this. A friend of mine went on Plavix, not for the normal uses but for headaches so severe she could not move or else she would scream. Other doctors would not prescribe Plavix for that because they did not feel that it was not made for that. I am not saying that it is something you would try, but it is worth asking your doctor. We only know 10% of what a drug can do.
Have you gone to a University doctor for the headaches, a pain management physician or/and a Neurologist? Do not stand for them giving you a first year resident. Go for the best. As every one deserves the best heallth care. Never settle for 2nd rate.
I surely wish you the Best. Keep us informed.
