My doctor declined my request for a refill over the weekend. I take Traxene in conjunction with 3 100 mg.tablets of Lamictal ER taken once daily at bedtime. This is my primary medication for seizures. My prescribed tranxene dosage is 7.5 milligrams 3 times daily. I wondering if there will be any side effects I would experience without the medication for 2 to 3 days. It is prescribed primarily as an anxiety medication.
Did you have enough for the month? If not, then I'd be telling him what I thought. Tranxene is a benzo yes, but its your seizure med and without it you will seizure. You can't go without a benzo any time, and for a seizure patient its outrageous that he did that. He cannot limit you to less then you need to control seizures, and the law would not question him because its for seizures. If you have any problems, go to the closest er, and be sure to tell them what the dr did. He'd be sorry he denied me my seizure meds when I got through with him.
I was wondering if you have one of those doctors that will only write scripts on certain days or between certain hours of the day??? I sure don't understand why they are being like this but I would go to an urgent care center or the E.R. and take your bottle with you. In some extreme cases the pharmacist may be able to give you an emergency dose of a couple to maybe several (3-4)... and then reduce your new script by those emergency... Good luck...
