Starting treatment next week. I'm not sure how often to take a clonidine 1 mg. I only have 14 pills. Dr recommends 1 a day and I think that's too little to help. Thanks

Jonboy11, this is common and if you look close I believe your pills are really 0.1mg you can't judge this one and it messes with your blood pressure and heart rate etc and helps with the withdrawals which everyone is different don't take more than 1 tablet daily until you see the doctor. This does work for people that have been on long term opiates. Chuck1957 take only what the doctor has said.

Thanks for response, I have been on pain Meds for osteoarthritis & herniated disc& sciatica for a decade. First oxy & fentynl then MS Contin. I kicked fentynil 3 months ago & reduced my ms from 60 mg a day to about 6. I'm weaning off very slowly & will use the clonidine soon as I stop all ms. I've been in AA for 8 years without a drink or illegal drug. I know I can do this but just never used clonidine before & any suggestions are very welcome. Withdrawal symptoms can be managed if we do it right. I'm trying to do that. Thanks my brother I'm looking forward to being free of all mess soon.
Jon; Yes with what you're on now and one of these it should cut back the craving and help a lot with your great attitude as you know we have to make up our mind. And you have a great support group. You have come to a long way guy people like you I am proud of. But I know from what I have seen. IT TAKES THE WANT AND KNOWING YOU CAN DO IT, Positive thinking. avoid negative things and people they catch us while we are down. But yes Clonidine has been used for years for drug withdrawals and the dose you have is the most common but until the doctor tells you differently it is normally 1 or 2 tablets daily and works very well on the cravings or slow you down a bit so you can really think about what your doing I trust you and look forward to hearing from you when your off of these all together You can do a lot with will power. And later think about this. The people that do the best help for others stuck in the rut are people that have walked that road.
