Is 100mg too high a dose for a 12 yr old girl? She's been diagnosed with mild ADHD but now has been prescribed clonidine
Further increments of 0.1 mg per day may be made at weekly intervals if necessary until the desired response is achieved. Taking the larger portion of the oral daily dose at bedtime may minimize transient adjustment effects of dry mouth and drowsiness. The therapeutic doses most commonly employed have ranged from 0.2 mg to 0.6 mg per day given in divided doses. Studies have indicated that 2.4 mg is the maximum effective daily dose, but doses as high as this have rarely been employed.
Yes 100mg is too much. I'm sure you meant to say .100mg. In that case, no its not too much.
Amanda; Yes please follow the direction from everyone here I had never dispensed more than Clonidine 0.1mg and you give it to the child at night to sleep because of the ADHD medication still at times has them to keyed up. double check with your doctor if any dough so that is just one tablet at bedtime normal dose for the 12-year-old.
