I started clonazapam yesterday, have been on zoloft for 4 weeks, and was still experiencing panic attacks and anxiety. Talked to you do who then prescribed clonazapam. Took two pills yesterday, was able to function. Even felt optimistic about the future and my own capabilities to deal with day to day difficulties. Not so today, is this common?
Since Clonazepam is a long acting benzodiazepines meaning it stays in your system longer, you might not get the initial effects that you felt the first day you took it, depending on the dose and the time you take it should affect that as well. It’s supposed too control panic attacks and anxiety the less anxious you are the better you are able too think clearly about your future and etc without worrying. But it will not give you more energy since it is a tranquilizer if you feel like it’s not giving you the relief you need you might wanna talk to your doctor about either adjusting the dosage or try a different benzodiazepine.
I also suffer with panic attacks and anxiety. I take Trazodone at night for sleeping. Its been over a year since the Dr wont switch another pill. He just keeps the dose higher. I take 3 triangle ones that are 150 mg . each and I still dont get a good nights sleep. But some nights will take a Clonazepam along with 2 of the Trazodone and that helped. I had been on Clonazepam for years but I need that to add with my sleeping pill. But I feel crappy the next day, cant get anything done with my anxiety.
