... Hubby has his own 1 mg scrip which he rarely uses. We have both noticed our last 1-2 batches have not been as effective in regards to our sleeping problems. I can understand my possibly building up a resistance, but he rarely takes clonazepam and he is experiencing similar sleep problems. Wondering if it is a manufacturing problem -- anyone else?
Hi wb4- Interesting. It's not supposed to be a question of the quality in manufactures , all meds are produced with same ingrieniences, and compounds. If you are getting them from over-seas well tats a diff story. have heard generics can run a %30 variable in either direction with respect to quality to be shipped out. If they are made in the great USA ;) then it shouldn't be a quality difference, not only between generics, but the brand name ones and generics "supposedly" have exact same ingriedience and compounds. I have been on generic Klonopin for a year now and never noticed a difference. So, it's either coincidental , or yes a cheaper new manufacturer. Definatly talk to your pharmacist. Good luck, keep me posted, Tanks Rc4
You say that you have been taking clonazepam 1/2 mg nightly for about 5years. 1/2 mg is a very low dosage, and after 5 years, I am sure that your body has built up a resistance to it.
When was the last time you have seen your doctor? I am a doctor, but I'm not a medical doctor, I am a Psychologist. But I do have a lot of experience with Clonazepam. Personally, I have an Anxiety Disorder, and I take 2mg of Clonazepam 3 times a day.
Doctors do not like it when a patient self prescribes, or tells him to "up" the medication. The best way to have your doctor change your prescription would be to ask him if he thinks you may have built up a tolerance to it. If he says no, don't push him, because believe me, he will be very upset.
But in my experience, I don't think there is a strength problem with the drug's manufacturing, I just think you have built up a tolerance to 1/2mg's of Clonazepam.
