My sister has been diagnosed with narcolepsy. She has no medical insurance due to the fact that she is retired, and still under 65 (where she would get Medicare). She is going untreated for almost a year, and the illness is taking over her. I just want to know if there is anywhere she can get help.
I highly doubt it. If your sister's Dx is narcolepsy. A lot of sleep disorder centers at renowned hospitals charged a fee of $400 per visit (not including the Rx). Only MediCal might be a possible option for not paying out-of-pocket money. Those sleep disorder clinics are even more expensive than the ones at the hospital. If she has no insurance coverage, my input is she has to live with it until she gets MediCare (unfortunately).
