Hello Clarence and welcome to DC. It is very important that your kitty get all of the med being prescribed. Did the vet or vet tech show you how to give it without becoming the human scatching post? Mine is very good that way. For me it was a lot easier to get him by the scruff of the neck and take the pre-measured dropper and squeeze it through the back side of his mouth then massage his throat. Then I would follow that with his favorite flavor of baby food. Just a small amount on a teaspoon and he never, ever refused gerber brand chicken, beef or lamb.
I don't think it is best to add it to the food... you want to make sure it is gotten in a single type dose. If your kitty is anything like mine... it will take her 4 hours to mostly finish breakfast. With that being said... I would be concerned that my kitty isn't getting the proper dose.
