There is more to picking the appropriate antibiotic for an infection then is one antibiotic stronger then the other. A culture needs to be done, this is checked for what antibiotics work the best for that infection. Bacteria respond differently to antibiotics, some work better then others for that infection. That doesn't mean that it will always work better then the others for other infections.
