Hi I visited my doctors yesterday I'm currently years old and may have dpd I have been told that I may be getting diognised with it . My fear is is loosing my children due to this ? So I have been proscribed some citalopram . Can this tablet help with bpd . Or is it best to go get the diognises ?
Danielle9223; First I think you are beginning to worry about much right off the bad. This medication does say that it can help with symptoms of BPD DIOGNISES. And there are others too. Many people are able to raise their children and lead a full life once under control. You should really continue to work with the doctors and be honest about your fears. And let them help you get through this. And at this point, you should not be putting more pressure on yourself as in losing your child or children. Many people are out there only to help you and get through your problems. If this is what it is they really don't want to take children out of a home unless things are way off. And it sounds to me that you are trying your best to be a good parent. Your best is to show whoever that you are seeking help to make you child a better person. And also they have people to help you succeed. So please don't shy away. Now as you know it is a completely different thing for someone that does not even seek help to get their life together please don't put to much pressure on yourself. See if this is the medication the doctor want you on or another. And quiz them for answers they would know much more than anyone. I hope this well settle you down some and know that all of this is possible. Just be very careful that you continue to be the best you can. be and the doctor and many others well vouch for you. good luck. and if you would like to keep in touch.
Lots of meds have helped certain individuals with the symptoms of BPD but its not a cure, I've read of Topamax, Depakote, Lithium, Seroquel, SSRI's, Latuda, Risperidone, Lamictal, Klonopin, Deplin all specifically being more beneficial than other meds but that doesn't mean others wont help (Celexa is an SSRI) DBT is the best proven treatment and BPD has shown to improve over time also
