I have been on celexa 10 mg. for a year, but don't notice a big difference in my anxiety problem. I was prescribed Ritalin for MS fatigue and possible ADD, and I keep getting anxiety attacks about taking my Ritalin sometimes. I saw my doc today and she increased my celexa to 20 mg. I'm hoping this will ease my anxieties so that I can continue to find a therapeutic dose of the Ritalin and not be anxious about taking it. just a note: I have struggled with anxiety, worry, depression for over 20 years. it has caused my life to come to a slamming halt. I want to be happy and productive again.
See what your Dr thinks and go from there, if you go for it it may feel, at first that the increase is making things worse, but this is a common thing and will pass, with the first 3-5 days being the worst (if at all) and a 2-3 week (for some, 4-6) to adjust to the change in dose.
Hi, just from my experience, i started on Citalopram several years ago. I went through the usual induction side effects, which, i won't lie, were really tough, but my doctor decided to increase my dose after 3 weeks and i felt a world of difference! So much better! Hopefully you will have the same experience?
Your doctor raised your dose to help you. It takes a bit of time for it to kick in. Is the same doctor prescribing your Ritalin? If you go to more than one doctor, they all need to know what medications you are on. Take your meds exactly as they have been prescribed. They will work, but you need to give them a chance. Let us know how it goes.
