Hi there i am 20 years old,and suffer from bad anxiety attacks and stress,my doctor prescribed this medication to me over a week ago.But i am to scared of feeling worse taking this.My anxiety causes me to feel dizzy and light-headed every single day and it is horrible.I really want to take this in hope to feel better again.I have only taken 2 tablets and then didn't take anymore, through fear.I just want to feel like my old self again,as feeling like this is preventing me from even going out the house and i have been out of work for 3 weeks now as well.

you might be having minor side effects which usually go away within the first 7-10 days. If you still feel after that period of time, or you experience shortness of breath or anything that makes you feel extremely uncomfortable, then contact your physician, or dial 911, or go to the nearest emergency room. Allergic reactions are not something to play around with. I hope this helps you some.

Hi Natasha, I completely understand your anxiety to start a new med. I might mention that the dose your are taking is 1/2 the oringianal starting dose of which I am assuming your doctor did on purpose because it can cause suicidal thoughts in young people. If you ever have these kind of thought, please call your doctor immediately! I don't think you will feel the effects from this dose, & most antidepressants take a minimum of 4 weeks to really start the helping process, so just bite the bullet girl and go for it. It cannot hurt you. I am also giving you info about the drug below just incase your doctor didn't. If you still feel the anxiety, call your doctor & see if there is something else along the lines of xanax to calm down your anxiety. We definately wnat to help you out. My best wishes are for your continued good health...

Yeah av'e not had any side affects as i havn't taken enough if them to know,i was looking for some reassurance in taking them. It's only 10mg dosage?
Your comments sounded like a possible allergic reaction. If I misunderstood, I am sorry, Natasha. I myself take 60mg of citolapram and it has worked wonders for me. My daughter also takes 40 mg, too. She is more comfortable on that than others she's tried.

Hi Tee6759. Its been awhile, since we've crossed paths ha :-0) I was on it also, but stopped, because it really tired me out. Knocked the wind out of my sails. Celexa 20mg, was my dose at the time. Was on it for I believe a year or so. Glad that its worked well for you. And your daughter. I like to hear that type of thing, when medications do well for others. Its far to often a trial and error, hit and miss sort of thing. Have yourself a good one Tee, best wishes.
Hi Tee, You may want to know that the FDA has put a black box warning on Citalopram dosage of 60mgm. It may cause serious heart problems. I to am on it at a 40 mgm dose. Go to the top of drugs.com and look under latest news. I think you will find it there. Thanks Dave
Hi Tee, Dave here again go to the top of drugs.com, look at News&Alerts on the drop down click on FDA medwatch, scroll down a little you will see Celexa Same as Citalopram. You will find the dosage there. I just found about it by chance God Luck Dave
Hello David,
Thanks for the warnings. My doctor's keeping a very close eye on things for me. I had a visit with her last week. She runs an ekg on me rather freq due to other conditions. It was very kind of you to mention that. Welcome to DC!
In peace,
Tee
Hi Tee, I am glad your doctor is keeping an eye on things. I have to go to the V.A. for my care, not the best option, but I will make it through. I need to withdraw from these SSRI drugs and a few others. I have been on these drugs for 3 years, with out question. My life is at a stand still right now. Not so good, I am like a shell of my former self. Finely doing some disheartening research on all of this. It will take some time, but I'll get back. Thank you for putting me on as a fan, your the only one I have! Thanks again Dave
David, now that we have friended each other, you can also ask a private question/email if you like. Anytime I can help you out, just ask. There is a great bunch here.
Peace,
Tee
Why is friends can make you feel bad enough to make you feel all about the good you're trying to do & you just wanna crawl in a corner n stay there?
Ok Tee, I found your question... I responded to the other Tram post but I put my e-mail address in there for you and it said that the comment needed to be "approved" by the site's administrators. So I did a search for your name! I'm new to this forum and am still trying to learn how to use it... anyway, enough about my ignorance
If I read your question right, if "friends" are making you feel bad about anything, then they're not true friends. Friends are understanding and care no matter what the situation is.
Kiki, never ever post your real email address in open forum. That is why they held it that is dangerous. I will friend you, and when you accept it, ill send u my private email.
Peace,
Teresa
