i have an infection in my skin under my eye lid. will cipro help
Dont mess around when it comes to your eyes. You need to go to an ophthalmologist and get a diagnosis. If there is a hard red, pimple-like lump just up from the lashline on your upper lid then it could just be a simple chalazion and all you need to do in many cases is just do warm soaks several times a day. Use a clean wash cloth and wet it down with warm water, very warm, but not hot enough to burn the skin, apply that to the area and let it sit until it cools, do this about 4 times a day and within a few days it should drain and go down. On occasion, they need to be drained surgically. You really should see an ophthalmologist though, rather than trying to treat something yourself.
Ciprofloxacin hydrochloride Why is Cipro prescribed? Cipro is an antibiotic used to treat infections of the lower respiratory tract, the abdomen, the skin, the bones and joints, and the urinary tract, including cystitis (bladder inflammation) in women. It is also prescribed for severe sinus or bronchial infections, infectious diarrhea, typhoid fever, inhalational anthrax, infections of the prostate gland, and some sexually transmitted diseases such as gonorrhea. Additionally, some doctors prescribe Cipro for certain serious ear infections, tuberculosis, and some of the infections common in people with AIDS. Cipro may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide. Please consult your physician before taking any medication.
