... give me my meds on time instead of the pain letting me know & then it's hard to cut the pain ??
They do have Morning, Noon, eve and night (so 4 times a day) med boxes but you can take the 4 times any way you need to just so long as they are organized. I just use 3 single box a day weekly organizers for morning noon and night. Each strip just has the days of the week and I used a sharpie to write morning noon and night on the sides of the boxes. You could use as many as you want for each dosing time.
I'm on a three day Fentanyl patch which makes it pretty hard to muck up but I still do. In order to make life easier (and to keep a personal record) I use a diary. It helps that, in my case, it requires input 4 times daily (weight to calculate fluid loss; daily and long term) any changes in symptoms and amount and time taken (approx) of two medications (taken as required). Major dietary changes get noted also. It is an absolute pain but when a doctor asks: "When did you first notice... " and I have it all there (take it to consults).
Yes, it is a pain, but after a while it really can become routine like taking the tablet. I suggested it to a friend who just dismissed the idea without trying. A properly kept diary be it for pain, weight; what have you, can be a fantastic resource when talking to your pain or other doctor. You can't really make up a diary as your handwriting, or that of most people, changes daily. Made up entries, by contrast, have exactly the same style page after page...
