... pharmaceutical companies have 'patient assistance' programs. And the makers of "Vyvanse" who happens to be "Shire Pharmaceuticals" indeed HAS a pa program for Vyvanse. Not every pharmaceutical company covers every med thru a pa program, but it doesn't hurt to check it out.
If your psychiatrist doesn't offer free medications or coupons then definitely ask because they get tons of these things (or info for the pharmaceutical programs) or you can check with your pharmacist (locally owned tend to know more - or at least give adequate time to answer your questions).
I've tried at least 6 medications with programs to help with payment - this is mostly only going to be true for newer medications, but local groups may also be able to help because some receive the "extra" production directly from the pharmaceutical companies for free or greatly reduced price.
