I tried many products with no success.
Increase your fiber, water and exercise. Also try taking pericolace every night, you have to manipulate the dose according to need, you'll figure it out. And be prepared to take something else if you don't go 2 days in a row, don't let it go longer then that. Something like senna or dulcolax. You need something that causes your gi system to speed up, not just a stool softener.
It can be a real pain until you figure out what you need. I take the pericolace, and there is a lax called prunelax that works pretty good when needed.
Lactulose is fantastic but you will have to get used to taking it at times when you know you will be near a toilet. When you first start, if you feel a movement coming on, you have 90 seconds maximum to get to the toilet.
Metamucil is great for opiate driven constipation also.
