Urinalysis and says no infection.okay then sends me away even though serious pain.I have appt with new urologist but several weeks away.what do I do for pain.Tylenol and motrin do nothing and now depressed and feel hopeless.very uncomfortable.
Just a question for you... have you ever had a urethral dilation? When I was in my late twenties, I had two of them done because my urologist thought I had stones or gravel causing the pain I was experiencing. That helped tremendously and so did changing up my diet.
For starters, I gave up caffeine for 6 weeks, dairy products and all cheese. Also no citrus fruit. I was told to watch my red meat intake, too but DO DRINK PLENTY OF CRANBERRY JUICE and to drink more water!!! No alcohol especially wine and beer. He told me to keep my diet bland and definitely NO HOT SAUCE. Let's see... no chocolates either.
Just throwing some things out there for you to consider.
Go to the Mayo Clinic or some larger more reputable clinic. Your doctor has to find out what's going on here, and you should not have to wait for the next test. Find a doctor who can set up the next test without needing a urologist. Then when the slot opens up, if you have not found results, go to the scheduled urology appt.
Do you have blood in your urine? How do you know that you have a bladder obstruction? Kaismama's suggestion for you to try Azo is spot on. It "numbs" the bladder and therefore lessens the spasming of the urethra. You are right in your decision to go to the ER if the pain worsens, especially if you have blood in your urine. Feel better soon!
