any other medicine than lipitor to lower ldl? and CRP?
Hello, pulguitas. I have extremely high cholesterol and tryglicerides, and have since I was little. They don't know why other than is a hereditary thing or a deficiency in my body that makes them that high. When we moved here four yrs ago, I had quit taking but one of my medicines for them. I had bloodwork done and my cholesterol was 535 and tryglicerides 1200. Yeah. I needed surgery on my back and had three Nuerosurgeons tell me no, that I was a stroke waiting to happen. They were even much higher than 1200 when I started out. I started on Vytorin 10/40. It brought them down to chol. 300 something, and tryg. 800. They have me on two more medications to bring them down and we'll see. I am currently taking Lipofen, Vytorin 10/40, and Niaspan ER 500mg. We'll see what happens next blood workup. Just to name a few they have put me on, Trilipix, Gemfibrozil, Crestor. There are many you can ask your doctor about, but don't let them get too high. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year my friend. Ruthie
