... that I was pregnant. I know for sure that the only time that I could have gotten pregnant is on Saturday or Sunday. The pill says to take within 72 hours, which I did. Since, I am constantly worried, I went to the health center at my school today and it said that I was positive too. However, prior I was researching online and it said that a sperm would not reach an egg until 72 hours. I was supposed to start my period late Monday afternoon. What should I do? Go and buy another pill of Next Choice?
If you're pregnant and its showing on a test, its not a recent occurrence. Pregnancy tests don't show positive until about 3 weeks after becoming pregnant. There is no way it would show positive if it has occurred in the past 72 hrs. Morning after pills do not end a pregnancy already established. It would be best for you to go to a gynecologist and get an exam. Save your money on the next choice, its not going to help. See the dr.
You are pregnant sweetie and it was from sex a few weeks ago. Pregnancy tests do not detect pregnancy that soon. Next Choice or Plan b will not terminate a pregnancy already in progress. All emergency contraception does is delay ovulation for a few days. If you are already pregnant, it just exposes the fetus to hormones that are unnecessary. It wont terminate or stop this pregnancy. You need to see a gynecologist to confirm the pregnancy but if you had three tests saying you are, you can be pretty sure you are. Ovulation and the time you are fertile is approximately two weeks after the start of your last period so think back to the very first day of your last period and count forward about 14 days. Any sex that occurred during this time is the likely time of conception. You were already pregnant before the sex you had this weekend. The choices you have are to continue the pregnancy and keep the baby, continue the pregnancy and give the baby up for adoption or surgical abortion. If you choose surgical abortion, the sooner, the better. You need to think about who you slept with two weeks or so after the start of your last period and let him know that you are pregnant and I recommend that you tell your mother or another adult female you are close to for help.
