My two year old son is very lethargic and sleeping more than usual. He is also constantly asking for a drink and will drink whatever is given to him even water. He wets through his nappy and clothes quite often. I took him to gp who dipped his urine, it was all fine. Obviously the main worry is diabetes. Will glucose always show up in urine sample? What else could this be?
Diabetes mellitus would almost always show in the urine, but truthfully, I haven't seen them test urine since 1985, lol. There is another type of diabetes that has nothing to do with the sugar one, that causes excessive urination. Diabetes insipidus. I'd ask the dr to test him for it.
