I'm unsure as to what your question is, however, my condolences for your loss. Part of quitting a smoking habit, unfortunately, is quitting many times. It's also important to train yourself to have strength when you encounter cues, or "triggers" - for me, it's as soon as I get in my car.
Stress doesn't help - we tend to do anything we can to get away from pain - and that's one reason why we tend to turn towards cigarettes.
I'm sure you can quit again - and perhaps seek methods to address what's bothering you in day to day life by seeing a therapist, visiting a support group, or discussing different available medications with your doctor.
