How can Celexa help if my desvenlafaxine is not available ?
Hi, Deb! While Pristiq is classified as an SSNRI class antidepressant/anxiolytic and Celexa is an SSRI both are commonly prescribed for depression and/or anxiety. In user reviews both medications received about the same ratings.
Why is your desvenlafaxine unavailable ~ is it only temporary and have you been using it successfully for some time and are you decreasing your dose or just stopping?
You may find you have some side effects both from starting the Celexa and stopping the Pristiq (headahes, nausea, dizziness, etc.) but they generally only last a few days to a week or two and get better every day.
I hope you experience a good transition and that Celexa will be an effective medication for you.
Best regards, Wildcat
