I began using NuvaRing for the first time. I am getting married in June and my doctor suggested I begin it now to regulate my body. However, because NuvaRing changes my menstrual cycle I will have my period on my wedding day.. so I don't want that. Is it possible to change my cycle by taking out the ring a week early to avoid my period on my wedding and the ring still protect against pregnancy?
No, you dont want to take the ring out early as this would leave you unprotected and you could get pregnant doing that. Your best way is to just skip your period this month. Rather than taking the Ring out for a week this month, put a new one in and dont have a "ring out week" this month. You may still spot a little or you may be able to skip your period altogether depending on your body but this is the safest way to avoid your period without risking pregnancy.
No, you cannot take it out early. You can however when you change it you can just put another one in, and skip a period. That would move your period a week. I would do it now so that you won't have a period on your wedding day. It is perfectly ok to skip periods, actually 3 in a row. It will not harm you.
