I've been suffering with tooth pain this past week. I've noticed that my gums Are swollen from my Brocken tooth. Have no insurance but have ephalexin at home can I take this antibiotic?
No, it's an antibiotic. Whatever reason you have for having it just laying around the house, it should have been taken in its entirety for that particular problem. You can't just take antibiotics like pain pills. If you can't get to a dentist, do this. Gently brush your teeth moving the brush over your teeth and gums in a circular motion. They will probably bleed, no big deal at this point. Clean your entire mouth like this. When you're done, take a glass of very warm water and add a tablespoon of salt to it. Swish that through your mouth like you would a mouthwash. Keep doing it and spitting until its all gone. Do this about every 4 to 6 hours for a couple days. The warm salt water is healing for your gums. But you must keep your mouth clean for it to heal. Hope this helps.
