60mg,and prednisone 20 dr, wants to put me on cellecpt 500,i worry about the side effects is it worth it
I had no side effects when I received cellcept. It was used as a prednisone sparing medication. Suppresses the immune system with far less or no prednisone if it helps. Dose has a lot to do with this. When used for my purpose I was told that the dose was not high like it would be for cancer treatment. Therefore all the scary stuff would not happen. I suspect the same for you. Talk with your doctor about this further. The long term side effects of prednisone are much tougher. If it helps you will be grateful. By the way, if too expensive, call the company. They provide it free if your income qualifies. Karen
I'm sure you are tired of hearing the same thing,,, but your MG does not or will not ever be like another's. Additionally, all current meds, other health conditions, and stress, impact each of us differently. CellCept is a wicked drug. Read side effects carefully. I've read in blogs where many do well on the drug.
But for me, I almost died within days after taking it. Each day I felt worse and looked worse. Weak, lethargic, almost catatonic. On or about day 5 my husband hid them, then threw them away. He declared WAR on CellCept. I share in hopes that you read adverse effects before making your decision.
