I have generalized anxiety disorder and a friend recommended that this drug works well for her. Unfortunately I currently self-medicate with alcohol which limits the safety of using any meds for my condition. But I don't believe I can quit drinking until my symptoms are under control.
Then stop self medicating and take the appropriate medication. No anti depressant works well with alcohol. If you have anxiety there are meds the dr can give you to take until the celexa starts working. You really have to make an attempt, the booze will eventually ruin your health and your life.
Celexa is an antidepressant:alcohol is a depressant. Used together, you will experience little to no, benefit. I took the 2 together for a long time, before realising this. Unfortunately it is near to impossible, to treat depression and mood disorders (with prescription medication) while the person is medicating with alcohol
