I don't like feeling drowsy. So how long will it take to work through my system
Good Morning; itsmeketa are you taking these now? Or is the doctor going to order one or both anyway Celexa and Geodon When you do start them for the first 2 weeks is when it is harder on us to get regulated even some of our symptoms gets worse for the first week or two but it goes by pretty quick, AND as far as weight gain the most common of these 2 medications would be the Geodon that can cause weight gain many people complain about that but many say that watching closer what they eat and taking short walks etc seems to help with the weight gain now as far as Celexa it can cause weight change which means it could go up or down but really very few people have problems with weight gain. Also, of all of the drugs in the SSRI's Celexa reaches the blood level faster than others you do get some side effects but they go away within the 2 weeks in most cases and it reaches the peak blood level in about one month. Geodon depending on the dose you should notice some relief pretty quick and the same goes for the side effects. But you have to get yourself feeling better before you worry about weight just keep an eye on it. Hope you get to feeling better soon. And if we can help you please repost any questions and someone well try and get back to you as soon as possible try and have a Merry Christmas. hope these work out for you Chuck1957
It may take 4 weeks or longer before your symptoms improve. Keep using the medication as directed and tell your doctor if your symptoms do not improve after 4 weeks of treatment.
Do not stop using Celexa suddenly, or you could have unpleasant withdrawal symptoms. Ask your doctor how to safely stop using Celexa. Itsmeketa this is some info on the celexa best wishes Chuck1957 ps AND ALSO TRY AND TAKE these medications about the same time each day as directed by your doctor. This really helps on the Celexa to keep a steady blood level have a good dAY. chuck1957
