I still have a glass of wine here and there and take my A/D. I don't think it's recommended but I am still here functioning ok.
Hi, i'm the same as outsidesue. I will have a drink sometimes and i don't get ill. The thing to bear in mind is that your medication won't work as well, and as someone told me, it will exacerbate your depression. Depression and alcohol don't mix well. I can't say i'm a saint though! I will still take my celexa everyday whether drinking or not.
Once you start taking the Celexa it is important you take every day whether you have a beer or not. Having a beer or two once in awhile isn't going to negate the Celexa although alcohol is a depressant so don't overdo.
Good luck on the new med,
