I had two heart attacks prior to Triple Bypass surgery 5/5/2010. I have been taking Celebrex for about six years for arthritis. I have had both knees replaced also. Lately I read an article from AARP that said "Scientists are issuing a stark new warning for people who have had a heart attack and continue to use popular painkillers like Advil (ibuprofen) or Celebrex (celecoxib). Don't take them unless you absolutely have to." I also take drugs for Pain Management (oxycodone & oxycontin). What is the truth about taking Celebrex?
I was on celebrex and read that article. I changed meds. I am on zoloft now. My fam was worried about me being on celebrex. The doctor was not too concerned. We have to think about our own health. The new FDA saids don't take celebrex with heart condition. But, all this changes all the time. You have to do what you feel is right for you.
