Short answer: No. The tablet is designed to slowly dissolve in the stomach. If you dissolve it into a food then eat it, the drug will be absorbed much too quickly which can increase your chances for side effects. If your child is having problems swallowing a pill, talk to your pharmacy and get a liquid suspension. Antibiotics have liquid alternatives for children.
