i tried to teat the UTI even though the treatment was not permanent,it was not very effective until recent,that's why i thought that it was the HIV that was preventing the effectiveness of the antibiotic
You need to tell this to your Dr. If you are having sex with a partner who is HIV+ then you should be tested regularly regardless. As Kaismama says, many UTI's can be rather resistant to antibiotics and may need more than one course if it is a bad one but you do need to be sure your Dr knows that you are sexually active with someone who is HIV+ so he can keep a close eye on you and test regularly. It is possible to contract HIV even with protection. There can be microscopic holes in condoms. Condoms definitely add a degree of protection if used properly but mistakes can happen.
