Yes. That is definitely a preferred med. used with opiate detox. Because opiates can have a slowing or lowering affect on our respiratory sytems and blood pressure, when we go through detox, the Catapres helps to keep the bp low. One of the reasons for the aches, headaches, anxiety, nausea, etc. is that our blood pressure is raised with the removal of opiates. The other meds that sometimes helped me were anti-anxiety, muscle relaxers, nausea meds, in conjunction with hot baths & exercise (despite it being the last thing you want to do!).
