I can see how the malabsorption caused at the time can lead to things caused by vitamin deficiency. Type 2 diabetes isn't so much damage to the pancreas as it is inability to utilize the insulin in your body. We always blamed age but as you know we're finding that isnt' so. I think it would be a real stretch to blame it on a past case of sprue. Have you asked your dr about it?
