Yes, it can and it does.
The Trigeminal nerve splits into 3 trunks (thus the tri in trigeminal), one trunk going to the eye socket area, one to the cheek, and one to the jaw/mouth. The trunk going to the jaw/mouth has a nerve ending in each tooth on that side of the jaw. (That's the limit of my medical understanding of the trigeminal nerve.)
I've had pain seem to float from one area to another, seemingly at random.
