Hi, I have taken carbamazepine for the last 10 years - Taver, Carbamazepine and Tegretol. Though it's the same active substance, I discovered I feel better or worse with some of these drugs - felt best with Taver, which I had to change because it wasn't imported any more. Now I'll have to change (again) Tegretol. Can anyone please tell me if there is a carbamazepine drug with best patient results for epilepsy ? Thanks
I have been taking Carbatrol for about 6 years now. I was on Carbamazepine and 2 others that I can't remember, but I continued to have seizures. Since I've been on Carbatrol I haven't had a seizure. The only problem I've had with it is that my insurance doesn't cover it so it is expensive. However I've been able to get patient assistance.
