I have only been on 100mg of Tegretol for 3 days and although it has taken the TN pain away completely, changed my moods to Mrs. Happy, removed my headaches completely, but I cannot sleep at all. I have been up for two and a half days now. This cannot be good. There has to be a better solution.
It may take longer for you to fully adapt to the drug, so I think I would give it at least a week. Each individual handles these drugs in a different way. In my case, I didn't have any noticeable adverse effects, but the pain control has ranged from "pretty good" to "complete," as it is now. For me, this has been the most successful drug, by far. Good luck!
