Hydroquinone is used to lighten areas of darkened skin such as freckles, age spots, chloasma, and melasma.
If your dark areas are caused by hyperpigmentation (dark patches of skin) then hydroquinone will help. However, most people develop dark circles under their eyesfrom weak blood vessels. These blood vessels break and cause bruising which result in dark circles. If this is what is causing your dark circles then hydroquinone will not help.
