Can you take vicodin 4-6 hrs after taking oxycodone?

You could, Ive seen this done before, but be sure you are spacing the drugs at least 4-6 hours apart. You definitely do not want to take them together at the same time. Use one or the other. If you are having more severe pain, take the oxycodone. If the pain is less severe, take the Vicodin. Be sure that you are aware of the total acetaminophen in each medication. Vicodin has acetaminophen for sure and many oxycodone products are in combination with acetaminophen too. You will often see acetaminophen as APAP on a drug label. Vicodin is often written as 5/500. This means 5mg of the opioid hydrocodone in combination with 500mg of acetaminophen. You want to be sure to consume no more than 4000mg acetaminophen in a 24 hour period from all sources. You might want to discuss this with your Dr or pharmacist as well just for clarification.
