I'm currently taking 20 mgs of suboxone now, and my doctor told me he does not prescribe subutex and would refer me out to another doctor to do so. I wonder why?
Are you a opiate addict?? If so then thats why he won't order the subutex as it is strait buprenorphene and can be injected.
20 mgs is usally not prescribed and I'm wondering if you are feeling ok. 8 to 12mgs once a day is usually the norm...
My doctor told me the same thing, at first. I'm not pregnant yet, but want to get pregnant. They at first told me that they would take me off the subs and I would have to get put on methadone. I said absolutely not. Since I have always been "clean" when tested, they said they would make an exception, but I would have to sign a "waiver" not holding them responsible if the baby should come out with deformities, etc. There apparently is not enough research regarding subutex and pregnancy. But if kept on suboxone, the naloxone can somehow harm the fetus during certain stages of your pregnancy, thats why subutex is safer, as it only contains buprenorphine.
I am about to start going to a doctor about being put on subutex because I just foudn out I was pregnant & heard that was better for me!! I really don't know what to do, methadone makes me really sick, I can't take that stuff!! I have a bad past with drugs & started taking suboxone illegally to get off other stuff which helped, but now just foudn out Im prego & need to get to a doctor to get on subutex!! Whats the best option for me? I can't stay sober on my own, tried for almost 9 years!!!
