Don't quite understand your question, but tylenol PM has benadryl in it which is what helps you sleep. The tylenol is for pain or discomfort. You can buy just benadryl & store brands are cheaper & they will help with sleep. 2 - 25mg is a good dose to take. If her phleghm is from allergies, the benadryl will help with that, From what you state it sounds more like post nasal drip. Hope this help answer your question...
if things are improved Tylenol PM has Benadryl (diphenhydramine) in it it's a good dose of antihistamine this may be the cause of her phlem not bothering her since she has an antihistamine in her or it could be the combination of Tylenol and the Benadryl giving her relief. (I read your question twice it appears that you are saying the phlem has reduced and you are wondering if this is helping her is this correct? if she is improving then it must be due to one of the components in this medication. You might mention it to her doctor especially if she is on other medication (or at least the pharmacist) just want to make sure she is safe.
