Can you drive a semi truck if on zoloft?
Zoloft may affect your ability to perform complex tasks requiring mental and motor skills. Therefore, you should become used to the effects of this medication before engaging in activities requiring mental or motor concentration (such as driving or operating machinery).
Please do contact your Dr. to discuss the above mentioned further.-
All the best and take care.-
Hi john, it all depends on your individual employer. DOT requires you disclose all information on medications you take while at the DOT physical exam. Legally, yes you can operate semi's while prescribed zoloft. Your employer may request a note from your doctor stating it is safe for you to operate trucks while on Zoloft. However, if this medication makes you tired, anxious, sleepy, etc you may not be able to operate until you have completely adjusted to zoloft and no longer have any of the negative side effects.
Our state has a service that drives disable persons around in a van and this very thing came up my friend had to take a leave of abscense (Jeremy) because they told him they would have to give him time to see how this medicine affected him and they could not take risks on other peoples lives, I mean this in the kindest way but just in order so that you know how this will affect you not only for it to be safe for others on the road but to make sure you are safe, you are important just like other people best wishes,
