Can vanilla extract used in banana bread cause a positive reading for alcohol in a urine test?

Yes. Some companies put a small amount of alcohol in there product to extend the amount of its expiration date including most vanilla extracts. Hope this helps!

Yes. The FDA actually requires that there be a minimum of 35% alcohol and 13.35 ounces of vanilla bean per gallon. I found this information on Wikipedia. I'm sure if you contacted the FDA they will verify this claim. Hope this helps!
