I have fibromyalgia, severe degenerative disc disease in my neck, low back, si and facet joints have had spinal fusion c3-4,celiac disease and last year I was diagnosed with RA. I have tried every pain med out there, pain management and biofeedback training, chiropractors, injections, and infusions. Now I use the fentanyl patch 150 every 72 hours with vicodin for breakthrough pain. What I found that really worked well for breakthrough pain is not covered by my insurance and it is expensive and not an option but looking into it may be an option for you. It is actiq and it comes in the form of a sucker--it is basically oraly fentanyl that you let slowly dissolve in your mouth so it works fairly quickly. Are you on anything for nerve pain? Neurontion helps me somewhat. I also use tizanidine which works for muscle twitching and spasms. I hope this helps--kim
