i was given hydroxyzine for anxiety to go along with my klonopin but i read that it helps releive itching wondering how true this is
Besides an online interaction checker or the information stuff that comes with the meds, I would suggest a prescriber's or primary's advice. There are online ask an actual doctor sites. I used one once and can't remember the name but I think it was on webmd. It was very helpful for me. Whether they are contraindicated the online checker and info stuff will probably suffice. If it is a question of being appropriate, I'd always ask a professional. Remember when you check there are two types of hydroxizine, pa(o?)moate and another one (I have both but I'm lazy!). Thanks, Michael
I have used hydroxyzine and for itching it seemed to help with that but it alone (I think you said you also were on Klonopin I would think the two together should give you some relief but I doubt if one of them alone will do it also I have noted with drugs like MS Contin, Duragesic, Dilaudid etc that I have itched like crazy!!! this may not be the answer for you right now but I gave it some time but I would tell you in all honesty if this continues and you use the Klonipin and hydroxyzine together and that does not help then you need to let the doctor know may be such a thing that your body will not tolerate the combination or it just may not tolerate the oxycodone but above all take these drugs and be very careful, if you have used a lot of pain medication for any length of time there shouldn't be a problem but if you aren't use to the medications it may be like getting a double effect. I am a friend that cares I just hope that I have been able to be of some help please know that I care do take good care and above all be safe

Histamine can produce symptoms of sneezing and runny nose, or hives on the skin. Hydroxyzine is used as a sedative to treat anxiety and tension. It is...
Consumer Information (Drugs.com)
Yes, hydroxyzine can and does relieve itching, even the type caused by opiates. Keep in mind that it can relieve, not necessarily alleviate the itching altogether. It would be wise to be careful taking hydroxyzine with klonopin as they are both CNS depressants-same as the opiates.
