I went to the doctor today because my gut has been sore for 2 weeks. It is right below my ribcage. I do have a lazy sphincter were I have reflux probems. I take Nexum 40mg for that already. Also my stomach is blotted and at night it gets very hard. Any suggestions on what this is my friends? I have appointments for bloodwork and ultrasound on my abdomen and pelvis scheduled. Thanks in advance.
Gallbladder pain tends to be under the right side of the ribcage and often people will feel the pain through to the back. It is usually worse after eating a high fat meal. That being said, I had this type of pain since I was in my 20's and they were never able to find stones. Well years go by until I was 43, I had this pain and went to the ER to be checked once again. CT scan showed no stones but this Dr decided to try a HIDA scan. The HIDA scan showed there were no stones but my galbladder was not fuctioning much at all. When I went in for surgery the next day, the Dr told me after surgery that I had had gallbladder disease for some time as my gallbladder was starting to get necrotic (or rotten basically). Have them add a HIDA scan if you can.
