I have severe coughing attacks, even during the night, coughing, wheezing, sneezing fits (as I call them). Someone suggested that a blood pressure medicine can cause these symptons.
I don't know about your blood pressure meds but codeine has works for me fo first few weeks. I used to cough non stop straight for days. Really stressfull. Took codeine immediately stopped coughing for a week. Thought I was in heaven. Then it came back. Although better now I mix it up with some days taking Benadryl and codeine. I have Bronchiectasis.
I take 10 mg of norvasc (amlodipine) each day. I have had a persistent cough for years and I recently noticed that on the days that I dont take my BP medication the cough is infrequent and light. On other days the cough is unbearable. I am going to ask my doctor to change my bp medicine. I will update you on the results.
