I have been having weird experiences. I know where I am but feel like my surroundings are unfamiliar. I have been taking imitrex a long time for headaches. I have an Aunt that had headaches and took imitrex and now has severe azlheimers. Since I put this connection together, I have been sick thinking that this could be a possibility. Help!!
I've suffered with migraine since 1958 its fair to say I've been given almost all that was available. I too tried Imitrex it was being pushed here in Ontario as the second coming. I never got to the third pill before throwing them out I felt unsafe taking this medication my heart would race and feel like it skipped a beat or two. There were a cavalcade of symptoms surrounding this drug and the manufacturers site is nothing really more than hype. In the end they tried to push Zoomig and two others all in the same family as Imitrex and I thought doctors initial assessment was listening. In my opinion you need to find another medication "fast" and send your Imitrex the way of the waste. I also realize just how big this statement is its pretty bold but its for your own good. Don't forget to make the rounds and research meds from 20 to 30 years ago you'll be surprised. Good luck.
There are no documented cases of Imitrex causing Alzhiemers disease.
New study shows that carbohydrates might be to blame though. Some are calling Alzhiemers type 3 diabetes. The carbs (all carb) are essentially poison to the brain. Even carbs previously thought to be good for you.
Studies have also shown that cutting out carbs can even reverse the effects of Alzhiemers and ADD in kids.
